Beautiful weather today. Slightly overcast, no rain, not too hot, not too windy, perfect for bicycling.

Number of bicycles seen on the local road: Zero other than my own. Number of vehicles powered by infernal combustion engines: About three million, only two of which gave the impression that they were trying to kill me.

All I ask is that when I’m inevitably struck down by an SUV, someone puts up one of those little dead bicyclist monuments at the side of the road, that it might serve for a season or two as yet another little reminder of how stupid is the Canadian habit of driving everywhere you go every day of the year and then complaining incessantly about the high price of gasoline.
